Activities in Hautacam
The Hautes-Pyrénées department (65) can boast several world-famous ski resorts such as Grand Tourmalet Pic du Midi, Gavarnie and Cauterets. Skiers who prefer smaller, less frequented and more family-friendly ski areas turn to smaller resorts such as Peyragudes, Saint-Lary, Val Louron, Luz Ardiden and Hautacam.
Located a few minutes by car from Lourdes and Argelès-Gazost, between 1500 and 1800 m above sea level, Hautacam is distinguished by its breathtaking panoramic view. From the resort, it is possible to see the Pic du Midi, Lourdes, Cauterets and several magnificent valleys.
The ski area designed for family outings has 20 km of slopes. A beginner's area with safety nets has been set up to allow children and novice adults to learn downhill skiing gently. The resort also has a Nordic skiing area. In winter, it is possible to do tobogganing, snowshoeing and fatbike (cycling on snow-covered trails).
In summer, the main activity in Hautacam is longskate. The resort also attracts hikers, mountain bikers and cyclists.
