Welcome to the Hautes-Pyrénées

Your Holidays in the Pyrenees near Lourdes

From the Domaine de la Tour campsite, you can reach the Pic du Midi, the legendary Col du Tourmalet, the most beautiful Pyrenean thermal resorts such as Bagnères-de-Bigorre, and extraordinary natural sites like the Gavarnie Circus, the Louron Valley, and the Néouvielle Nature Reserve in less than an hour by car.
Holidays in the Hautes-Pyrénées give you the chance to visit Lourdes, famous for its grotto and miracles, as well as the Notre-Dame-de-la-Sède Cathedral in Tarbes. The department is dotted with charming villages nestled in the mountains, such as Saint-Savin, Saint-Sever-de-Rustan, Mauléon-Barousse, Arreau, and Luz-Saint-Sauveur, and hosts several prestigious ski resorts like Cauterets and Luz-Ardiden.
Want to take in the region from above? Follow the mountain passes and traverse stunning protected landscapes. Follow the rivers in the shade of tall trees or circle the Gaube Lake and stop for a family picnic while enjoying nature in all its seasonal glory.
Water sports and hiking during the summer, winter sports and thermal stays in winter: the Hautes-Pyrénées offer so much to visitors that twelve months are barely enough to glimpse it all. And it is precisely this infinite variety that will make you want to return.

The Domaine de la Tour campsite is located at the foot of the Tour de Vidalos.

Built during the reign of Centulle III in 1175, the Vidalos Tower was an outpost signal for the Lourdes fortress. From its summit, you will enjoy a beautiful view of the valley and the village, an old bastide founded in 1257, nestled at the foot of the Pibestre massif, once called by locals "the enchanted mountain." The castle was dismantled in 1404 and 1593. In 1846, the villages of Agos and Vidalos were merged to form the single commune of Agos-Vidalos.

The commune of Agos-Vidalos belongs to the Lavedan Valley, which consists of 7 valleys, more or less known, stretching from Lourdes to Gavarnie, via the Val d'Azun and the Pays Toy. Cauterets (Pont d'Espagne) and Hautacam, two magnificent sites, are also part of this large valley.

During your stay, you will discover the richness of our lands and Bigourdane culture. Numerous hikes, for all levels, will enchant you, and you will likely encounter marmots and chamois, or maybe even cows, llamas, and horses...

The Pic du Midi, one of the most breathtaking panoramas in the world, or Lourdes, globally famous for its grotto and miracles, will enrich your knowledge while you enjoy the fresh air of the Hautes-Pyrénées. Don't hesitate to visit Argelès-Gazost, Tourmalet, and Luz Saint-Sauveur.
